  • Teamwork helps weight loss

    Step 1: Intensive Care (6 months)

    Teamwork makes the dream work!

    Over 6 months, you will experience the most complete weight loss program in Australia with 18 telehealth sessions with our multi-disciplinary team.

    All consultations will be conducted via video telehealth (Google Meet).

    We start with introductory sessions with a team member who will spend time answering your questions and preparing you for your consultations with our doctors.

    Your doctor will then conduct an hour long appointment where they go through your weight history and look for both the causes and consequences of your obesity.

    They will order blood tests to assess your health and look for treatable medical causes of weight gain.

    You will then have a second appointment with your doctor who will discuss treatment options including weight loss medications.

    The next step will involve 3 sessions with our psychologists and 4 sessions with our dietitians who will give you tips on improve any maladaptative eating behaviours and develop the best meal solutions for you to suit your lifestyle and food preferences.

    About every 2 weeks you will have a check-in with our nurses who will focus on setting exercise goals and encourage you stick to the behavioural and dietary changes you have made.

    Every month our doctor will continue to review your medications, adjust doses, add or substitute medications based on your response and help manage any problems you encounter.

    After completion of Step 1, you will then qualify for Step 2.

  • Continue your weight loss journey

    Step 2: Sustenance (6 months)

    You’ve made a great start in your weight loss journey. Incorporating what you’ve learned from your team in Step 1, your 6M Life team will check in with you regularly to help you stay motivated, accountable and recalibrate our approach depending on your goals.

    During this stepdown program, you wil have a telehealth appointment every 2 weeks with either our nurse or doctor.

    We aim to keep you motivated and accountable to your weight loss goals. Research shows that touching base with clinicians regularly results in greater weight loss than no regular check-ins. If you have regular piano lessons, you are more likely to practice then if you didn’t and had no accountability.

    Step 2 is designed can be extended indefinitely beyond six months as a subscription service and our goal is to develop a 6M Life community with unique content and events.
