What are the 6Ms?

We focus on 6 domains to help increase your chances of sustained weight loss by looking at your complete physical and psychological health and social circumstances to fashion a plan just for you.

Just as elite athletes have a team of people to help them perform at their best, our team are there to mentor you and help you stay accountable to your goals. We educate you and give you the tools to make the right food and lifestyle choices to maximise your chances of success.

Psychology of eating

Mind

  • Your psychologist will help you identify the causes of comfort and binge eating and will work with you to develop sustainable changes to your relationship with food

Motivation keeps you focussed

Motivation

  • Studies show that frequent check-ins improves compliance with any behavioural change. Our team will be your cheerleaders, and have weekly video consultations with you to ensure you stay committed and motivated.

what eat matters

Mouth

  • Working with your dietitian, you will learn about improving your food choices, developing meal plans and adopting a healthy diet based upon your medical needs and lifestyle.

exercise is important for wellbeing

Metabolism

  • Exercise and activity is vital not only for losing weight but also for improving your overall cardiovascular health and to minimise the development of conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Exercise also releases endorphins: feel good hormones that will help you stay motivated.

Medication can help lose weight

Medication

  • Your doctor will recommend the most suitable medication based upon your medical history and goals to help you lose weight and keep it off.

They also have the expertise to change or add medications if your weight loss plateaus. Online prescription mill weight loss clinics do not have this expertise.

We adapt to suit your needs

Malleability

  • Everyone is different so our approach is tailored to your needs.

We are adaptable and work as your partner to help you get the best results for you.

No cookie-cutter, algorithmic, tick-a-box approaches here!

Is the 6M Life program right for me?

We feel the program is best suited to those who:

  • have tried dieting and lost weight and have been disheartened when the weight is regained.

  • are contemplating bariatric surgery but would like to see if a more comprehensive approach may help them avoid surgery

  • have had bariatric surgery and found weight regain has occurred or would like to maintain the weight lost

  • people who are motivated to change behaviours and adopt life changing habits

We feel the program is NOT suited to those who:

  • have unrealistic expectations of losing significant weight: the expected weight loss is about 15% on our program

  • want to lose a few kilos for “the big event”

  • feel medication alone will do the job: research shows it won’t!

  • are under 18 or over 70 yrs of age

  • are planning to get pregnant whilst on the program

  • have a Body Mass Index (weight (kg)/height(metres squared) of under 25 (with no medical history of bariatric surgery)

  • have diabetes being managed by an endocrinologist
